Questions coaches ask

Who is Personal Record Sports?

We are an independent, authorized dealer for Gill Athletics track and field and facility equipment, and Porter Athletic gym and court equipment. We sell to high schools, colleges, and districts across Northern California and Nevada, from our office in Auburn, California.

What area do you serve?

Northern California and Nevada. We visit facilities, measure pits and circles, and write every quote ourselves.

Are the prices on this site what we will pay?

Every price here is Gill’s published 2026 list price, so you can use it in a budget request or a board packet. Your quote will be a different number, because it depends on quantity, shipping, bundling with other orders, and which purchasing contract your district uses.

How do I get a quote?

Add the items and quantities you need to a list on this site and send it to Personal Record Sports. We price it for your district, quantity, and shipping, and send back an itemized quote. You can also call or text us. Part numbers plus your facility measurements can usually be priced in one go.

Can our district buy without going out to bid?

Often, yes. Gill has cooperative purchasing contracts that many districts can buy through without competitive bidding, which can save months. If yours qualifies, the contract number goes right on your quote.

How does shipping work?

Many items, such as cages, covers, and shelters, ship on pallets by freight truck. We go over the shipping options with you up front, and bundled orders can share a freight shipment, which often brings the total down. If anything arrives damaged, we handle the claim.

Does our equipment meet current NFHS, USATF, or NCAA rules?

Equipment put in years ago can still look fine and no longer meet the current spec, and the host school is responsible for meeting it. We can check throwing cages and rings, pole vault and high jump landing systems, sand pits, covers, hurdles, and fixed hardware like ground sleeves and anchors.

Can you help us measure before we order?

Yes. Wrong dimensions are the most common reason an item gets ordered incorrectly. We’ll go through pit openings, circle diameters, runway length, and where your sleeves and anchors are before you order.

When is the best time to order?

August and September, at the start of the budget year, is when equipment requests tend to get approved fastest. January and February is pre-season ordering, when shipping time is the bottleneck. June and July is the best time for a cage, cover, or shelter if leftover money has to be spent before the year ends.
