How pricing works
Most dealer sites either hide pricing or quote a number that does not survive contact with your purchasing department. Here is exactly how this works instead.
What the prices on this site are
Gill publishes a list price for every part number, effective for the calendar year. Those are the numbers here, unchanged. They are what you want for a budget request or a board packet — a defensible figure with a part number attached.
Why your quote is a different number
Quantity, freight distance, whether your order can ship alongside another install in your area that month, and which purchasing contract your district uses. A website cannot know those, which is why quotes are done by hand.
Freight is included in the quote
Cages, covers and shelters ship on pallets by freight carrier, to a track that usually has no loading dock. Freight is a real line item, so it is in the quoted number rather than added later.
Co-op contracts can skip the bid process
Gill holds cooperative purchasing contracts that many districts can buy on without running competitive bids. Where that applies, it can take months out of procurement. The contract number goes on your quote.
What makes a quote come back fast
Part numbers and quantities. An open-ended question like "what does a throws setup cost?" takes several rounds of back-and-forth. A list of eight SKUs with your facility dimensions can be priced in one pass.
Why no percentage is listed
The discount is not a single number. It moves with quantity, with freight distance, with whether your order can ride along with another shipment in your area, and with which contract your district buys on. A flat percentage would be wrong for most of the people reading it.
